Roger Carswell
Roger was converted as a teenager and worked as a school teacher in West
Yorkshire for over ten years. Since 1983 he has been an itinerant evangelist
taking university and church missions in many parts of the UK and beyond. He also
writes and distributes Christian tracts and books. He is married to Dot and they
have four children.
We are privileged to be having him visit us at Christ Church from 14-18 May 2014, when he will be interviewing some local and some more prominent followers of Jesus about how knowing Him has helped them. He is also great showing how Christ is relevant to each of us in the 21st Century.
More details nearer the time.
First Wednesday Prayer Meeting
Our First Wednesday prayer meeting encourages us to pray more faithfully as a church and in particular to set aside time to pray about all that we hope to do for the Lord here.
We meet in the Sunflower Suite at Christ Church School from 7:30pm for refreshments before turning to prayer at 8:00pm and aiming to be finishied by about 9:00pm.
Please put these dates in your diary as a clear priority each month and keep the first Wednesday clear of any other commitments? It is important.
Confirmation - October 2012
Bishop Trevor Wilmott took a confirmation service on Sunday 7th October 2012.
In the Anglican church confirmation provides an opportunity for those baptised as infants to publically declare their faith.
Candidates are confirming that they have committed their lives to Jesus Christ and that they want to follow him.
Some of those who were confirmed wanted to publicise the declaration of their faith in the Lord Jesus. Here’s what they say about how they came to that point.
If you are ready to make such a statement and would like to consider being confirmed please speak to Peter.
